Description
Articulates a vision of the library's future which is consistent with the University's Mission, Vision and Values. Responsible for accreditation, library strategic planning, administration, and management of internal operations including developing and managing capital and operational budgets. Assures that the University stakeholders are compliant with copyright laws and provides leadership and education in the integration and use of information technologies and literacy. Utilizes benchmarks to evaluate library programs and services. Holds a faculty appointment, participates in University and State committees and coordinates library services with all campuses, faculty, staff, medical center, and other external organizations.


Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
· MLS from ALA accredited program
· Second Masters degree or Doctorate in Library and Information Studies, Educational Technology or a field related to the health sciences is desirable
· Membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals
· Eight to ten years as a professional librarian in higher education and health sciences.
Five years in a position of administrative responsibility, preferably as a director or supervisor
