Job Description:
Dear colleagues:

Make a difference with us!

Below is the URL for the current Children’s Librarian vacancy at Arthur F. Turner Community Library in West Sacramento. This is a Librarian I or II position, so those with entry level and little experience as well as those with many years of experience are eligible to apply. This is fine opportunity for a youth services librarian – the Turner Community Library is a great place to work and the community is very appreciative of their new library, which opened on 10/10/09. There is a strong team of staff, committed to this diverse community. Services to youth is a highlight of the branch services at Turner with dedicated storytimes for preschoolers and toddlers, bilingual storytimes for Spanish and Russian families, a dedicated teen room and teen advisory group, an active afterschool homework program, family literacy programming, a toy lending library (through the City of Davis Child Care Services) and great partnerships with local and regional youth serving agencies, including the Washington Unified School District, Collings Teen Center, West Sacramento Youth Resource Coalition and Yolo County Children’s Alliance, First 5 Yolo, as well as the City of West Sacramento. With the City’s Community Center opening soon, there will be a natural link with UP4WS (Up for West Sacramento – the First 5 funded West Sacramento universal preschool program) and the City’s Parks and Recreation programs.
