Position Summary and Responsibilities

As part of a team, the Reference & Instruction Librarian provides research and reference assistance to the students, faculty and staff of the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University, the larger Stanford community, and other authorized users of Jackson Library. Provides frontline customer service and develops both general and personalized customer-training programs. Uses both personal instruction and social networking technologies to market the library and raise awareness of resources and services among customers. Creates and maintains research guides and class resources using web publishing technologies.

Qualifications

•Extensive business knowledge and 3-5 years' experience working with major financial databases including Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Thomson One Banker, and WRDS
•Experience designing and conducting instruction targeted at MBAs
•Knowledge of and experience with social networking technologies including blogging and Twitter
•Strong customer service focus
•Proactive, high-energy, self-starter; experience working on teams
•Masters in Library & Information Science desirable

Part of the Graduate School of Business, Jackson Library is the business library at Stanford University, with online and print resources in management, marketing, finance and related areas.
