Librarian I for the Archives/Record Center, Yolo County Public Library
This is the entry-level position in the professional librarian series and is distinguished from the Librarian II classification in that the latter performs more complex duties.
The Yolo County Archives provides invaluable research and access to historical documents to the entire community, as well as the Board of Supervisors, including primary documents, photograph reproduction, and data retrieval. In addition, the Yolo County Archives functions as a repository for critical donations pertinent to the history of Yolo County. The Yolo County Records Center serves as the key records retention and management agency for the County's various departments.The ideal candidate will have prior experience in using and adhering to archival standards and best practices. Possession of certification as a Certified Archivist or Certified Records Manager from the California Department of Libraries is highly desired.
Education:
Master's Degree in Library Science or Library Information Services or related library field from an accredited graduate school of Librarianship. Possession of certification as a Certified Archivist or Certified Records Manager from the California Department of Libraries is highly desired.
Salary range:
$18.48-$22.46/hour; $3,203-$3,893/month; $38,436-$46,716/year

Job Summary:
Plans, organizes, and supervises the operations of the library’s literacy and homework services programs; develops services and assists in setting program policies; trains tutors; develops and maintains program budgets; provides supervision and leadership to unit staff; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
1.) Bachelors degree in education, adult education, reading or literacy, social services, or a closely related field;
and
2.) Three years of experience in education, literacy education or basic adult education or equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience;
3.) Supervisory experience desirable.
A valid Class C California Drivers License is required for appointment.

Classification & Retention Consultant - Sacramento area
Library Associates Companies / LAC seeks candidate for immediate consideration for the position of Classification & Retention Consultant for a project to be completed over approximately 19 months in the Sacramento, CA, area. The position, subject to award, would work closely with employees of a governmental agency, including the resident Librarian. Consultant would propose a plan for the organization of the agency library, and would subsequently devise an in-house classification schema and document-retention policies. Consultant will provide ongoing support to the agency employees tasked with cataloging/classifying the documents according to the new schema.
Project is divided into phases and is anticipated to last no more than 19 months in duration.

Qualifications:
- Ideal candidate will have MLS/MLIS from ALA-accredited program, as well as experience organizing libraries, creating classification schemas and retention policies.

- Federal, and Mid-Pacific Regional record management policies, preferred;
- A background or experience in environmental studies would be a plus!

Job Summary: Fulltime (part-time negotiable), temporary position for 3-4months. Catalog contents of environmental engineering library and createspine labels using ILS (integrated library system) software program,Softlink Liberty. Work will take place in Davis, CA office.
Salary: $20/hour
Education and/or Experience:
LIT (paraprofessional) Certificate or equivalent and successfulcompletion of cataloging class- Prefer one year of experience
Skills and Abilities:
Skilled in searching and downloading MARC records- Familiarity with online library catalogs and other bibliographicdatabases- Copy cataloging experience- Knowledge of MARC record structure and formatting- Familiarity with LC classification system- Familiarity with Microsoft Office- Familiarity with integrated library system software- Cataloging skills (both copy cataloging and original cataloging)- Ability to take direction, work independently and use good judgment- Excellent attention todetail - Punctual, flexible, and reliable- Excellent speaking and reading in English language
